We have seen in previous posts how ceramic manufacturers over the last 50 years have interpreted the colour of sanitary ware. We discovered the most popular colours: CHAMPAGNE and VISON in the post: “Sanitary ware colours. Why it is difficult to find the right colour toilet seat cover” and along with them the colour variants that are often mistaken for them: KASHMIR, WHISKY and DAIN. We have seen the whispering pastel colours BLUE, PINK, GREY, the bright colours of FELTGREEN, FONDAL BLUE, CACTUS, CASTOR, WALNUT and MELOGRAN in the post: ”The colours of the sanitary ware and toilet seat covers: green, pink, light blue, blue, brown…”. We explained that it could even change the shade of white: “White as white can be! So why is white different in Ideal Standard sanitary ware?” Today we will look at a colour that was so successful in the 70s and 80s and recently taken up by some ceramic companies: BLACK.
ITALO / ITALICA series Pozzi Ginori
ITALICA is the large sanitary ware by Pozzi Ginori. An incredibly successful series as we saw in the post: “Pozzi Ginori sanitary ware old square models. Square, Italica and Italo duo which toilet cover is correct?” Where we saw that this ceramic series is considered the large sanitary ware series par excellence: ITALICA. We dedicated an in-depth study to it in the post: ”Large sanitary ware (old models) and their unobtainable toilet seat covers”. Its almost rectangular shape and dimensions (54/55) necessitate a dedicated toilet seat for the toilet in the dimensions 50×36 with centre distance 15/15.5. The toilet seat for this toilet in all original colours can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following LINK [ clik here ] It was produced in all the colours of the time: champagne (a best seller), pink, light blue, blue, brown, green and grey, but for a long time the white version was also offered in black.
Toilet Seat Italica Pozzi Ginori colour GLOSSY BLACK
MONTEBIANCO is a round, antiqued sanitary ware that has been produced for a century with incredible sales success in the bathroom furnishing sector. We found it in the post: ”And then comes ‘Montebianco’ Classic/antique sanitary ware and their toilet seats” where we talked about them like this: “Montebianco sanitary wares were designed by Guido Andlovitz and presented as far back as 1925 by Richard Ginori. Despite a series of different restyling, they have survived to the present day and are still present in the current Pozzi Ginori catalogue. As the catalogue itself states: ‘a timeless success. Montebianco is the historic bathroom line that keeps its timelessness intact. A modern classic” Its round top shape and parallelepiped body that widens towards the floor make it unmistakable. Its toilet seat cover also has an unmistakable shape and can be found in the store at the following LINK [ clik here ] in white and the following in shiny BLACK at the following LINK [ clik here ]
The antique curved series: ELLADE, WINDSOR, ROYAL, BOHEME and PANTHEON
The modern curved series have often been presented with a matching toilet seat cover in either white or glossy black. In the Sintesibagno store, the two variants are available for all models. Here the various links: Ellade white, Ellade black, Windsor white, Windsor black, Royal white, Royal black, Boheme white, Boheme black, Pantheon white and Pantheon black.
D-shaped toilet seat matte black colour
While glossy black has been an established colour in the production standard of ceramic manufacturers for many years now, matt black has recently been introduced among the new products. Sanitary ware is even being produced in this colour. In the Sintesibagno store there are already several toilet seat models in this finish: LINK by Flaminia, ZERO by Catalano, Open Space by Globo, DAY TIME by Hatria…
