Throughout the history of bathroom design, many ceramic companies have ventured into the production of rectangular shaped sanitary ware. Most of these series are now out of production and finding a toilet seat cover is often very difficult. In previous posts we have already looked at WCs of this type and suggested the link where you can find their toilet seat. In the post: ”Rectangular sanitary ware shapes. Why do all toilet seat covers for this toilet look the same?” we saw: CONCA by Ideal Standard, VELARA by Ideal Standard, CLIO by ceramica Globo, EBLA by Ceramica Dolomite, TERRA by Ceramica Flaminia, SPACE STONE by Ceramica Globo, FROZEN by Ceramica Simas, VERSO by Ceramica Catalano, OUTLINE by Ceramica Althea and the latest series from Pozzi Ginori (Geberit) METRICA. In the post: ”Discontinued old sanitary ware models with rectangular toilet seats. (part 2)” we saw: CIOTTOLO and SPRINT by Ceramica Flaminia, FIESTA and IGEA by Ceramica Catalano, HIDRA by Hidra Ceramica, ADDA by Ceramica Facis. Today we will look at other sanitary wares and their covers, most of them older than the series we have already encountered, some produced in the 1960s and 1970s.
Today we focus on more recent, but still out-of-catalogue sanitary ware models with the consequence that there are many customers looking for them.
PRUA series Azzurra Ceramiche

We talked about this great ceramic company in Civita Castellana in the post: “The oldest ceramic series from Ceramica Azzurra. Where can I find particular old models”.
In our opinion, this company is very strong on round shapes. Hers are ceramic series such as FULL 48 and FULL 54 and even CLAS 05, but with this ceramic series with the name Prua, he has demonstrated an astonishing formal talent. A very modern sanitary ware with a rectangular top and a sanitary ware body outlined by straight lines with varying inclinations.
The thermoset toilet seat cover dedicated to this particular sanitary ware can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following LINK [ clik here ]
EGO series Kerasan
This company from Civita Castellana is called Kerasan and we discovered it in the post: “Kerasan sanitary ware crosses all styles of bathroom furnishing. Toilet seats in all shapes” where we saw that its foundation dates back to 1960. An incredible story of success forms.

The Ego series was designed by designer Alfredo Anzellini. (He also designed the FLO and RETRO’ series). It is one of the company’s most successful rectangular series. The upper surface of the vase is perfectly rectangular, which may remind one of other ceramic series from competitors, but it is in the body that the novelty lies. The idea is by designer Simone Anzellini: Ego can be defined as a rectangle without edges. The company describes it as a ‘rounded square’. Its toilet seat cover like the Orginale in thermoset with wrap-around lid can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following LINK [ clik here ]
OH series Simas
Ceramica SIMAS is another company from the Civita Castellana ceramic district. It has always been a brand that manages to appeal to interior designers and planners. Among its outstanding collections we certainly find FROZEN. We have often defined it as the sanitary ware series that best represents the rectangular shape category. (see post: “Legendary sanitary ware. They create shapes, styles and colours then sought after by all. We find the right toilet seat in these iconic vessels. (part 1)“). In the post where we talked about all rectangular/square sanitary ware and the replacement toilet seat we talked about it like this: “…perfection of form. As I said, the point of arrival of design that seeks to create a product that when talking about its category is always mentioned. That’s right, in the bathroom furnishing sector, when it comes to square/rectangular sanitary ware the point of reference is this series produced by Simas. It could only be called Frozen. It was the typical product that you either fell madly in love with at first glance or you thought it was just a provocation by the creative designer. The fact remains that even just one look at it had to be granted. In sales terms it was quite successful. Not a best seller, but that was only due to the high cost of the elements, which was amply justified given the production costs, but not affordable for everyone”.

Dedicated toilet seats for this sanitary ware, both the first version in white coated wood and the version in wrap-around thermoset (also available with slow-motion hinges) can be found at the following LINK [ clik here ]
The evolutionary step of FROZEN was designed for the company by the well-known designer MICHELI, who sketched the unique style of Oh.
That fantastic parallelepiped was embellished by the curves in the lower and upper corners. At the top of the sanitary ware this play of curves was made by the toilet seat cover. Unfortunately, the toilet seat has now gone out of production. So as not to leave the many customers who are still looking for it without it, we at the Sintesibagno team have tested a product that we believe will solve the problem. It will not have rounded corners, but the shape is very compatible with the toilet. You can find it in the store at the following LINK [ clik here ]
