One of the companies in the Civita Castellana ceramic district. From their website (www.hidra.it) we discover that: “Hidra Ceramica began its production activities in 1989 and is today, one of Italy’s leading manufacturers of sanitary ware and bathroom furnishings. With technologically advanced plants, constant commitment to research and continuous investment in human resources, Hidra has achieved excellent quality standards by producing products that are always in line with the latest market trends. Hidra collections characterised by quality and attention to design are planned and realised through collaboration with well-known designers. With the aim of achieving ever greater customer satisfaction, the philosophy of quality and design is extended with the new service that Hidra offers its customers: the possibility of setting up display corners within points of sale with coordinated communication for its products. Hidra products are uniformly distributed nationally and internationally in no less than 60 countries.” In the post: ”Hidra Ceramiche. The shapes of sanitary ware in the new millennium and their covers” we have already started to see some sanitaryware series and their toilet covers: Series SMARTY Hidra Ceramica, Series LOFT Hidra Ceramica, Series DIAL Hidra Ceramica, Series ANGELA Hidra Ceramiche.
TOP LINE series by Hidra Ceramica
One of the first series produced by the company. Typical ’90s shape. Interesting raised rear rim, practical from a hygienic point of view. The upper shelf also has a slight step, but this did not (given the remaining width in the shelf area) lead to the toilet seat needing moulded rubbers like other series of the period (See post: ”Sanitary wares with an inclined plane and their toilet covers with shaped bumpers (part 1)” The toilet seat cover for the TOP Line series can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ Clik HERE ]
PLUVIA series by Hidra Ceramica
We see it as the right heir to Top Line. Ceramic series from the late ’90s. D-shaped like its predecessor. The raised rear rim and the step in the top were eliminated, and replaced aesthetically by a rounded edge in the upper part of the sanitary ware body. Slightly larger, it was presented with a toilet cover with wrap-around lid, which you can still find in the store at the following link [ Clik HERE ]
ONDA series by Hidra Ceramica
This is the company’s large size series. Production in the early 2000s, a period when other ceramic companies also increased the length of their sanitary ware and consequently also their toilet seats. In the post: ”BIG sanitaryware, large WCs and bidets modern lines and their covers (part 1)” we saw some competitors from Onda: Sanitaryware SCULTURE Hatria, Series AMICA Nero Ceramiche and Series DIAGONAL Ideal Standard. Onda is a best-selling series by Hidra Ceramiche. A soft, curved shape. Thanks to this rounded shape, the size of the sanitary fittings is visually lighter. It needs a toilet seat cover that is a good 49 cm long and still narrow for the size of its length, only 35 cm! Long and tapered. You can find it in the store at the following link [ Clik HERE ]
MY series by Hidra Ceramica
One of the latest series from Hidra. Strictly flush with the wall as the latest market trends require. In the post: ”The streamlined floor-standing sanitary ware (flush with the wall). Soft, wrap-around shapes. Top-mounted toilet seats are required.(expa)” we have seen so many of its competitors: Series Sfera (sistema C) Ceramica Catalano, Series Open Space Concept Ceramica Globo, Series Fast Pozzi Ginori (Geberit) and Series LFT Spazio (Acqua Space) Simas. The shape of this toilet is very interesting: unlike many of its competitors, the upper part of the toilet towards the floor is not marked by a diagonal, but by a double curve that gives it the effect almost of a suspended toilet. The toilet cover for this toilet can be found in the original version with a wrap-around lid at the following link [ Clik HERE ]. Be careful when choosing the toilet seat for the floor-standing or wall-hung toilet version, which are different.
ELLADE series by Hidra Ceramica
One of the queens of the retro/classic style: Ellade. In the post: ”Spare parts and replacement of CLASSICO/RETRO style toilet seats‘” we have seen how many ceramic companies have interpreted this style: Series ANTALIA by DOLOMITE, Series RETRO’ by KERASAN, Series ARCADE / OLD ENGLAND by SIMAS and Series MAGICA by FALERI. In the post: ”Iconic sanitary ware: shapes, styles and colours ‘copied’ by the competition. Looking for the toilet seat cover (part 2)” we saw the particularity of Ellade and talked about it like this: ‘Hidra ceramica with its superior shape characterised by a double curve of workmanship distinguishes itself from all other companies, it opens a path that will later be followed as a shape by the sanitary ware of other ceramic companies, see: Royal Althea, Windsor by Ceramica Cielo and Boheme by Eos Ceramica. The Ellade toilet seat cover, both in white and black, can be found in the store at the following link [ Clik HERE ]”
