One of the greatest contemporary Italian designers has created, through a decades-long collaboration with Pozzi Ginori, many ceramic series that have all become best sellers. In the meantime, to find out who Antonio Citterio is, we refer you to the site: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Citterio where you can also see the other companies, not in the ceramics sector, with which he has collaborated.
Citterio Pozzi Ginori series – Design Antonio Citterio
Let’s start with the designer’s latest series. It bears his name: Citterio. It is the stylistic conclusion to a journey that began many years earlier with EASY. Even more rounded shapes and the introduction of a rear riser create a unique spherical effect with the original WC seat. Only the original toilet seat can be mounted on these sanitaryware, which you can find at the following link [ clik HERE ]
EASY.02 series by Pozzi Ginori – Design Antonio Citterio
This is one of the series thanks to which Pozzi Ginori returned to the forefront of the market as in previous years. We talked about it in the post: ”Pozzi Ginori sanitary ware: the modern era series and their toilet seats (part 2)”.
Here is an excerpt: “A form of sanitary ware (WCs and bidets) from which in the following years all the ceramic companies competing with Pozzi-Ginori took their cue. The EASY.02 series (we could say, for a change, about the PG company) was the zero year of sanitary ware flush with the wall with soft oval shapes. It was such a precise project, studied down to the smallest detail, that a rounded toilet seat was also designed to look like a continuation of the ceramic element.” In Sintesibagno store you can find all the toilet seats for this series at the following link [ clik HERE ], however, a wooden version covered in white polyester is also included for those looking for a seat that is perhaps less attractive than the round plastic original, but more practical as it is completely flat.
500 series by Pozzi Ginori – Design Antonio Citterio
The small sanitaryware revolution began with these sanitaryware that were only 500 millimetres long. We have seen in the post about compact sanitaryware: ”Which small toilet seat has sold the most?”, like this series drawn by Citterio together with his two “cousins”. YOU&ME by Hatria and ZEROLIGHT by Catalano
have shared the market in this sector. Five hundred (500) millimetres are the length of these ingenious sanitary ware. We consider it the perfect shape, both we and the market, which rewarded it with extraordinary sales. It was presented in both suspended and floor-standing versions and combined with a very wide range of washbasins. Even today, when Pozzi Ginori became part of the Geberit group (it is still in the catalogue), it is still highly appreciated by designers who use it all the time in small bathrooms where they want to give a refined touch. A leading series! You can find its toilet seats in the store at the following link [ clik HERE ].
900 (novecento) series by Pozzi Ginori – Design Antonio Citterio
This series was designed and then presented by Pozzi Ginori in both suspended and floor-standing versions. In our opinion it is the latter that best expresses the stylistic and formal concept that designer Citterio was looking for. With this series of sanitary ware, the market was offered a variant with a square rectangular geometric cut of the retro/classical lines that typically have rounded shapes, (”Classic-Retro-English Style Sanitary ware and their toilet seats (part 1)” The original 900 toilet seat and also a dedicated version are available in the storeat the following link [ clik HERE ]
Also by Antonio Citterio is the series Q3 which we discussed in the post: ”Pozzi Ginori sanitaryware: the modern era series and their toilet seats (part 1)” and ”Pozzi Ginori sanitary ware: the modern era series and their toilet seats. (part 2)”.
The skilful (pencil) hand of Antonio Citterio is indeed an unmistakable feature of all these ceramic designs and it could happen to confuse one series for another and make a mistake in buying the right toilet seat. That’s why we suggest you send us an email to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your toilet seat and a few measurements and we will be able to help you choose.
