FIDIA series Ceramica Flaminia
With this series Ceramica Flaminia enters the market sector of classic sanitary ware that we have seen in the post: ”Modern sanitary ware, but with classic/antique shapes? How possible? Where can I find their toilet covers?” where we have seen how the ceramic companies, starting from a D-shape at the top (therefore modern and not shaped or rounded as was often the case with retro-style sanitary ware) have succeeded, by working on the body of the sanitary ware and creating unevenness, steps and curves, in giving these series a classic formal imprint: CALLA by Ideal Standard, CANOVA by Catalano and BELLE EPOQUE by Cesame. This Flaminia series is called Fidia and is produced by Flaminia. A toilet bowl and its cover very large compared to the standard of the category. we talked about it in the post: ”BIG sanitary ware, large WCs and bidets, modern lines and their covers (part 2)” where we have seen sanitary ware and toilet seats reaching lengths of 48/49/50/51 cm, among others ONDA by Hidra, OMEGA by Facis and LAGO by Dolomite. Precisely this length and the workings and steps in the foot of the sanitary ware and in the body give rise to gentle, rounded shapes that streamline the imposing volumes. CIOTTOLO series Ceramica Flaminia
With this ceramic series, the company from Civita Castellana anticipated several series that in the early 2000s many companies presented to the market, including one of its own: SPRINT. Ciottolo is a rectangular shaped sanitary ware like many we have seen in the post: ”Old, out-of-production rectangular sanitary ware. Very old shaped toilet seats“; ALFANA by Tebax, SIMETO by Simas, YURA by Kerasan and EDOS by Hatria. Each of them with its own characteristics stood out from the others. These sanitary wares by Flaminia also had a special feature, in the back a narrow top was extended (compared to the main rectangular outline) which lightened it and made its shape unique. WEB series Ceramica Flaminia
Web by Flaminia is a 38 cm wide vase that began to anticipate the shapes that were to come shortly afterwards. Rounded shapes and little workmanship in the body of the sanitary ware, although it is not a small vase, make it light from a formal point of view. A noteworthy detail about its shape is the slight rise at the back that we found, as seen in the post: “Special sanitary ware and toilet seats. WCs with a back step (corner and inclined)” in the Vavid sanitary ware series MEDITERRANEA and ORIENTALE, in the Cesame series SYMBOL, Catalano ZERO 54 and ZERO+ and in series AXA ONE.
