One of the historic companies in the internationally renowned ceramic district of Civita Castellana is: Ceramica Flaminia. We have seen how, since the beginning of the new millennium, it has established itself as one of the design queens in the bathroom furniture sector. In the post: “The FLAMINIA design series. Not just WCs and bidets, but LINK, SPIN, TERRA…. and their original toilet seats.” we have seen its formal breakthrough sanitary ware: LINK, SPIN and TERRA. Before 2000, the company presented sanitary ware that was very successful and which we will look at in this post.
METRO series Ceramica Flaminia
It was Flaminia’s mass market series for a long time: Metro. The period was the eighties, dominated by large specifications and new construction. We discovered its competitors in the post: “Replacing a 80s/90s toilet seat cover” which were: TESI by Ideal Standard, SINTESI by Cesame, CLODIA by Dolomite, LUCE by Catalano and FANTASIA by Pozzi Ginori. The Metro vase was a D-shape with rounded, bevelled corners, embellished with a foot with a recessed workmanship in the body that slenderened the figure. Several versions of toilet seat covers are available for this vase, including one in Slim thermoset with soft-close hinges to give new polish and style to a figure that in any case suffers from the production style of the period. You will find them all at the following link to the Sintesibagno store [ clik here ]
EFI series Ceramica Flaminia
It is the company’s retro/classic style series, called Efi. We have seen sanitary wares in this style and their toilet seat covers in many previous posts, in the post: ”Spare parts and replacement of CLASSIC/RETRO style toilet seats’” we have seen the shapes of the 8-shaped toilet seats of ANTALIA Dolomite, the violin-shaped toilet seats of RETRO’ by Kerasan, the toilet seats with the double curve of ELLADE by Hidra. Or a rounded shape like the Pozzi Ginori series MONTEBIANCO: ”And then comes ‘Montebianco’ Classic/antique sanitary wares and their toilet seats (part 2)” and the series inspired by it: ALBANO Vitruvit, LUTEZIA Senesi, PALLADIO Sbordoni and LONDRA Simas. In the post: “Devon & Devon is British style. Let’s discover classic sanitary ware and their toilet seat covers” we have discovered a ceramic company that offers only English-style sanitary ware with its series: ETOILE. Efi by Flaminia is also a sanitary ware in the shape of a figure of eight, a unique feature for this type of sanitary ware is the very large size of the toilet seat which makes the toilet seat almost 50 cm long. Another peculiarity is the interaxis of the toilet seat, a good 20/21 cm, a measure as we have also seen in the post: ”Sanitary ware with oversized centre distance and their covers” a standard centre distance for toilet seats is considered to be 14 to 16 cm. The toilet seat cover for this large retro toilet seat with a special centre distance can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link

RELAX series Ceramica Flaminia
We see it as the heir to the Metro series, but much more stylish in shape and more modern in the period in which it was presented. A D-shape that partly anticipated the trend of what was to come in its near future. Embellished in the foot of the sanitary ware by a small protrusion that is also recalled in the upper part of the sanitary ware. As if it were a frame delimiting its shape. The rounded upper surface is peculiar, leading the toilet seat to need inclined bumpers for greater stability. We have seen other sanitary wares that require toilet seat covers with inclined bumpers HERE. We therefore suggest that if you are looking for a durable toilet seat cover for this Flaminia toilet bowl, the model like the Originale that you can find in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]
