We continue our search through the history of bathroom furniture to find out which sanitary ware was the best-selling of all ceramic manufacturers. In the post: ”The bestselling sanitary ware of every ceramic house. Use the Sintesibagno catalogue to find the toilet seat for these models (part 1)” we started to see: Ideal Standard CONCA series, Ceramica Flaminia LINK series, Pozzi Ginori EASY series, Hatria Ceramiche YOU&ME series and Ceramica Globo the system OPEN SPACE. In the post ”The bestselling sanitary ware of every ceramic house. Use the Sintesibagno catalogue to find the toilet seat for these models (part 2)” we saw: Ceramica Simas LFT Spazio series, Cesame SINTESI series, Dolomite CLODIA series and Azzurra Ceramica DIANA series. In the post: “The bestselling sanitary ware of every ceramic house. Use the Sintesibagno catalogue to find the toilet seat cover for these models (part 3)” we saw: ANTICA by Ceramica Vincenti, PIENZA by Ceramica Senesi, MOBELLO by Laufen and ARKE’ by Galassia.
ICEBERG series Ceramica Vulcano
Vulcano was a company in the ceramic district of Civita Castellana that had always concentrated on the production of shower trays. At the turn of the 90s and early 2000s, it decided to launch a number of ceramic series. One of these was called Iceberg. The minimalist style won a good audience. The light ceramic bundle at the top of the sanitary ware body made it very recognisable, it was proposed for flush-to-wall positioning and made it one of the forerunners of this new type of sanitary ware that we saw in the post: ”The floor-standing sanitary ware caressed (flush with the wall). Soft, wrap-around shapes. Top-mounted toilet seats are required.(expa)” (where we have seen its competitors such as: SFERA by Catalano, OPEN SPACE by Ceramica Globo, FAST by Pozzi Ginori and LFT Spazio by Simas). This sanitary ware therefore clearly requires a toilet seat cover with fixing from above. The various versions, in coated wood and thermoset, can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]
STARCK series (1-2-3) Duravit
For Duravit cooperation with Philippe Starck has been a collaboration of sales success and international renown. If we evaluate the three editions of this sanitary ware from a formal point of view, the most surprising is certainly the first: Starck 1. If we think that it was presented to the bathroom market back in 1994, it is even more surprising! It was truly a stylistic revolution. A circular shape with an impressive 42 cm diameter (width). At the following link you will find the original version and the dedicated variant in white coated wood that is much sought after because it is significantly more robust [ clik here]
In the second edition (Starck 2), the designer switched from a round to a D-shape. The shape of the sanitary fitting is characterised by an inverted L at the back of the body. WC covers for this Duravit series are available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]
Last, but perhaps not least in terms of sales figures (given the affordable list price) is the third edition called Starck 3.
Certainly the simplest from a formal point of view, but as the company itself reminds us, with these sanitary fittings design becomes accessible to all. Produced in the floor-standing version and in the wall-hung version with two depths 54 and 48. An important detail that we have already highlighted in the post: ”Sanitary ware and their covers with (non-standard) out-of-gauge centre distance (part 2)”. The wheelbase of its toilet seat cover is an impressive 27 cm! You can find it in its various versions at the following link [ clik here ]. On one of our sites (www.copriwater.it) you can also find an article dedicated to Starck 1,2,3 toilet seats at the following link [ clik here ]
ELLADE series Hidra Ceramica
This series (Ellade) with its antiqued and retro style is not only a sales champion for the Ceramica Hidra house, but also a benchmark for the entire broad category of sanitary ware with a classic or English style. We have seen this type of sanitary ware and their covers in several posts. In the post: ”Spare parts and replacement of CLASSIC/RETRO style toilet seats“. Here we have seen the 8 shapes of toilet seats ANTALIA Dolomite, the violin shape toilet seats of RETRO’ by Kerasan, the toilet seats with the double curve of ELLADE by Hidra. Or a rounded shape like the Pozzi Ginori series MONTEBIANCO: ”And then comes ‘Montebianco’ Classic/antique sanitary ware and their toilet seats (part 2)” and the series inspired by it: ALBANO Vitruvit, LUTEZIA Senesi, PALLADIO Sbordoni and LONDRA Simas. Hidra Ceramica with its superior shape characterised by a double curve of workmanship distinguishes itself from all other companies, paving a way that will later be followed as a shape by sanitary ware from other ceramic manufacturers, see: Royal Althea, Windsor by Ceramica Cielo and Boheme by Eos Ceramica. The Ellade toilet seat cover, both in white and black, can be found in the store at the following link [ clik here ]
