Ceramica Flaminia is undoubtedly one of the undisputed queens of Made in Italy promotion in the bathroom furnishing sector. A company that has been producing ceramic products since way back in 1955, in practice 70 years. In previous posts we have already seen much of its pre-2000 production. In the post: “The old sanitary ware series by Ceramica Flaminia. The old toilet seats…” we saw: METRO, EFI and RELAX. In the post: “Ceramica Flaminia’s dated series. Where to find the old toilet covers for these oddly shaped vases” we saw: FIDIA, CIOTTOLO and WEB. All of these series were highly appreciated by the market and customers and allowed the company to begin to make a name for itself with the Italian public at large. But it was in the new millennium that the company became a market leader, not only in Italy but internationally. The turning point is the artistic direction of Giulio Cappellini.
LINK sereis Ceramica Flaminia
The ceramic series where it all started! Not only for Flaminia ceramics, but for the entire sanitary ware sector. A style icon still relevant today. From a previous post of ours we find his story.
They are the series of sanitary wares that brought Flaminia and the bathroom furnishing world into modern design and style. We also talked about them in the post on suspended sanitary ware: “Suspended sanitary wares and their covers (part 1)” which we report in part: “In the late 1990s early 2000s, suspended sanitary ware began to be considered a ‘normal” choice. The time was right for a formal acceleration. The market was accustomed to shapes that were all the same and quite crude. Until then, the mere fact that a sanitary ware was suspended was enough to qualify it as modern. Flaminia understood the need for new shapes and styles and presented Link. And he made a masterpiece! They are still among the most beautiful suspended sanitary ware in the entire bathroom world. The incredibly low body height of only 20 cm (excluding the siphon) really gives the idea of a body suspended above the void. Minimal, chic, very modern even now more than twenty years after their presentation.
WC covers for these sanitary wares are available in many variants: the old as original thermoset with normal or soft-close hinges and also the new Slim versions, again with normal and soft-close hinges (also available in matt white and black). SPIN series Ceramica Flaminia
The geometric rigour of Link was joined at this time by the soft curves of Spin.
Here the designers of ceramic houses look for natural forms. Curves reminiscent of stones dashed by water. The slight inclination of the body at the bottom makes this sanitary ware light and enveloping.

TERRA series Ceramica Flaminia
With this ceramic series called Terra, the company entered two segments of the bathroom furniture market at that time: fairing floor sanitary ware and modern rectangular shapes.
With this series, the company strikes again and scores another sales success and breaks new ground in ceramic shapes. The upper shape of the vase, precisely rectangular with slightly rounded corners, and its change in depth towards the floor make it unique at that time.
