We started looking at the ceramic series in the current Ceramica Flaminia catalogue in the post: “Ceramica Flaminia’s modern series and their special toilet seats” discovering the series: Bonola by designer Jasper Morrison, Nonò by designer Nouguet and Una by Adolini.
Today we will look at the series in their catalogue designed by designer Alessio Pinto.
VOLO series Ceramica Flaminia
Dating back to 2009, but still in the catalogue, this ceramic series called Volo and designed by Alessio Pinto, here his biography directly from the Flaminia website. We in the Sintesibagno team would rightly say. Looking at it even now, we notice something surprising and yet never equalled by other ceramic manufacturers. A structure with a rectangular shape that takes on lightness and levity (hence the name ‘Volo’) through linear thicknesses that widen on the high edges of the sanitary ware body. Almost a sense of levitation thanks also to the slight inclined angle that rises from the lower part towards the upper projections.
Such a unique and special sanitary ware needs an equally “strange” toilet seat cover. The toilet seat features a rectangular part carved into the donut (which you see in the second picture). FLAG series Ceramica Flaminia
Having seen the Volo project in its peculiarity, one would have thought it unlikely to surpass its innovative capacity. Instead, again Alessio Pinto surprises us with the Ceramica Flaminia Flag series.
To talk about it, we quote its description from the Ceramic House website (HERE the LINK): “From a sophisticated play of contrasts comes the Flag collection. The important volumes are embellished by meeting subtle details that draw their profile; the monolithic shapes are lightened in the changes of section that round off the corners. An essential shape but rich in emotional details.This collection, in particular, investigates the theme of colour, giving colours a prominent role in the design experience. The inside and outside of each element are combined in refined tonal combinations that give life to the original finish called STRIPES, in which two matte shades are combined on the same product. Each proposal reveals a different and unexpected image of the collection. Flag is a well-articulated collection of sanitary ware and washbasins, complemented by mirrors with LED lighting.“
It is precisely those light, subtle reliefs in the upper part and that more accentuated change of depth in the lower part that give Flag a unique character once again. Bravo Pinto and bravo to the ceramic company that produces it with such skill and quality.
